Curtain Rod Installed

WIDTH MEASUREMENT –

Measure the width of the curtain rod between the decorative finials (decorative hardware at the end of the pole).  This will give you the finished width of the curtains that you require.

Choose whether you want a single panel or pair of curtains for the pole.

LENGTH MEASUREMENT –

Measure the length from the BOTTOM of the curtain pole to the desired length of the curtains:

Sill Length – It is recommended that you add a minimum + 4” below sill for the finished length.

Mid Length – If a baseboard or electric heater is located below the curtains, it is recommended that the curtain finished length is at least 4” above the heat source.

Full Length – It is recommended that 0.5” is deducted from the finished length so that the curtains are slightly off the floor.

Puddling on Floor Length – To get this look it is recommended that you add 4” – 12” onto the floor length of the curtains, depending how much ‘puddling’ you require.  This style is best kept as a decorative look where the curtains will not be opened or closed.   It is also not recommended for high traffic areas or if you have children or pets, as the curtains will get dirty very quickly.

EXCEPTIONS:  If you are choosing Rod Pocket OR Tab Top Curtains, then you must measure from the TOP of the Curtain Rod.

WIDTH MEASUREMENT –

Measure the width of the window including the outside frame/trim (if installed).

Add the total number of inches on either side of the frame you wish the rod to extend.

NOTE: It is recommended that the finished width of the curtain rod be a minimum of 4”- 8″ longer than either side of the frame and a minimum of 8” – 16” for larger windows.

This will give you the finished width of the curtains that you require.

Choose whether you want a single panel or pair of curtains for the pole.

LENGTH MEASUREMENT –

Measure the length from the top of the window frame/trim to the desired length of the curtains:

Sill Length – It is recommended that you add a minimum + 4” below sill for the finished length.

Mid Length – If a baseboard or electric heater is located below the curtains it is recommended that the curtain finished length is at least 4” above the heat source.

Full Length – It is recommended that 0.5” is deducted from the finished length so that the curtains are slightly off the floor.

This measurement is the distance from the top of the frame/trim to the desired height you wish to mount the BOTTOM of the curtain rod.

EXCEPTIONS:  If you are choosing Rod Pocket OR Tab Top Curtains, then you must measure from the TOP of the Curtain Rod
